1. ANESTHESIA PROGRAM
Our program was established in 1992. The student quota for the program is 65. There are 4 faculty members in the academic staff. By utilizing all the possibilities of modern education, we aim to provide our students with education at a level that will enable them to compete with other universities both nationally and internationally. The technological infrastructure and educational opportunities of the department are organized in a way that will allow students to gain the necessary skills to take on responsibilities and tasks they will encounter in their professional lives.
Our graduates are employed as professionals in both the public and private sectors. Graduates work in clinical, polyclinic, laboratory, operating room, emergency department, and other medical units in public and private healthcare institutions. The language of instruction is Turkish.

3. DEGREE AWARDED
Associate’s degree. To earn an associate's degree in Anesthesia, students must successfully complete 120 ECTS and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale. Those who complete the program are awarded an Associate's Degree diploma and the title of Anesthesia Technician. The conditions outlined in the Fırat University Associate's, Bachelor's Education-Teaching and Examination Regulations are applicable.
4. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Students are admitted to the Anesthesia program based on their TYT (Basic Proficiency Test) scores through centralized placement by OSYM.
5. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of this program work as "Anesthesia Technicians" in public and private healthcare institutions. Employment areas include hospitals and healthcare institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Health, working in the operating room and related departments under the guidance of physicians. They may be appointed as Health Technicians through the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS). Due to the significant demand for trained professionals in this field in the country, graduates can easily find employment.
6. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Students must successfully complete all courses in the program, earn at least 120 ECTS credits, and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale to graduate.
7. RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Students who have previously studied at another higher education institution, either domestically or internationally, and have been officially enrolled in the program can apply for credit and grade transfer in the first week. The transfer requests will be evaluated by the relevant academic unit's board and will be decided upon in a one-time decision covering their entire education.
Students who have completed their secondary education or an equivalent program abroad and meet the university exam requirements can enroll in the program. Additionally, students may transfer to this program through a horizontal transfer from an equivalent program at another higher education institution. For the transfer of courses taken at another institution, Fırat University’s Associate’s, Bachelor's Education-Teaching and Examination Regulations should be consulted.
8. PROGRAM PROFILE
The primary aim of the program is to train health personnel who will assist physicians in anesthesia tasks during surgeries. The program’s objective is to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to prepare patients for surgery, perform anesthesia and analgesia procedures, prepare and use the necessary equipment, monitor and record vital functions during procedures, and carry out anesthesia applications for special patients and surgery types in accordance with legal frameworks and ethical standards. The program lasts four semesters.

10. ADVANCED STUDY OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of this program can transition to bachelor’s programs such as Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Nursing, Nursing and Health Services, Health Management, and Social Work through the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
